There are few characters in the history of motorcycling quite as interesting and scandalous as Floyd Clymer.  And that’s saying a LOT in an industry full of eccentrics, grouches, weirdos, and ne-er-do-wells!  The story of Clymer’s Indians is almost Hollywood bizarre.  Equal parts criminal and genius, it was from an era where rules only applied to those who didn’t run or talk fast enough.  Clymer did both.

We took this Ventura Storm in on trade recently with just over 150 miles and we’ve been wanting to do a tribute of sorts to Clymer’s unbelievably wacky Enfield Indian of the early ’70s.  We think it came out pretty cool but, unlike the original, it’s not illegal.   Runs and rides great.  I think he was on to something.  Unfortunately, the lawyers were on to Floyd.  Ah, what could have been…
