Randy & Kenner Baxter
Randy Baxter got his first motorcycle ride from his Uncle Gus on an Indian. He was just a kid, and he was hooked. From there, he progressed to owning his first Triumph as a teenager. Some of his friends followed suit, and soon he was working on them. Had to buy and book and everything. That cemented his love for all bikes British, and after a few years working on bikes in a chicken coop at night while welding during the day, he chucked it all in and opened the shop in Marne.
Kenner Baxter grew up on a farm just a few miles from Marne. After college and 20 years of advertising copywriting in Kansas City, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta and Chicago, she bumped into Randy Baxter at a firemen’s dance in Atlantic. When she told an old high school friend that Randy had proposed, the friend recalled asking Kenner’s advice back in high school. She said Randy had offered to give her a motorcycle ride, and she wasn’t sure about going. Kenner told her that Randy was a good guy and she’d be safe with him on a motorcycle, but to absolutely not get on a bike with his friend Jim. Forty years later, that’s still good advice.
Jeremy's father, mother, uncles and grandfather all rode British bikes. He learned to ride and work on vintage Triumphs, Norton, BSAs and Royal Enfields as they were his modes of transportation as a young adult. Jeremy moved to Marne from Texas in 2011 to work for Baxter Cycle. Jeremy currently lives in Marne with his family and restores and collects vintage Royal Enfields in his spare time.
